Yoga in the Orchard - December 8thYoga in the Orchard - December 8th
Join us for the December 8th yoga class, held in an idyllic setting & guided by Ellen Goldlust. Weather permitting, classes will be held outdoors on the flat lawn surrounded by the apple trees (we will relocate indoors to the Orchard Room if the weather is poor). Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early (10:45 am) to get arranged for this one hour class beginning at 11am. Ellen Goldlust is an RYT-200 Yoga Alliance–certified instructor who has been teaching yoga since 2016 and practicing for much longer. The class will be beginner-friendly (no experience required!) and appropriate for all levels of fitness, with lots of modifications offered to make the practice more or less challenging. We’ll focus on releasing tension, creating an inner calm that yogis can take with them off the mat, and most of all having fun! Please bring your own yoga mat. Live Music in the Orchard: The PollocksLive Music in the Orchard: The Pollocks
The Pollocks are led by Jason Pollock, former guitarist, and songwriter for Seven Mary Three. In the mid-1990s, Jason penned such hits as "Cumbersome" and "Water's Edge", sold a few million albums, and toured extensively. Jason's new band was formed in 2014 when a friend told him that he needed to get back into the game. The music can best be described as American rock, with the right amount of soul: The Rolling Stones meets Jefferson Airplane. There's some Velvet Underground, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, and Neil Young thrown in for good measure. - Light bites and hard cider will be available for purchase by the glass, bottle, or flight.
- Outside food is welcome; feel free to bring a picnic!
- ABC laws prohibit the consumption of outside alcoholic beverages
*Musicians will set up in the Orchard Room during inclement weather and the winter season

Silent Book Club 12/29Silent Book Club 12/29
Sip cider and read in quiet camaraderie. No assigned reading, no obligations. Bring your own book of choice. This is a free social event hosted in our Orchard Room. We are excited to be Charlottesville's second chapter of Silent Book Club, an international organization bringing bibliophiles together. From the official website of Silent Book Club: "At Silent Book Club, there's no assigned reading. All readers are welcome—ebooks, audiobooks, textbooks, comic books... it's BYOBook. Our events are free and support local businesses. Friends and strangers gather at a set time and location, order food or drinks, share what they're reading, and settle in for an hour of silent, sustained reading. At the end of the hour, attendees can socialize—or not! We started Silent Book Club because reading with friends enriches our lives and makes us happy. We love hearing about what people are reading (often in their other book clubs) and we think it's important to put down our phones and be social."
Schedule: 12:30 Arrive early to order food/ drinks/ chat 1-2pm Reading Afterwards: Mingle (or keep reading) You can read about the experience in Cville Weekly's "Tried it in Cville Column" thanks to talented local journalist Kristie We also have a Goodreads and a Facebook page for the group, if you'd like to connect!
