Live Music in the Orchard: The Queen City Porch Swingers
Live Music in the Orchard: The Queen City Porch Swingers

Come Join us in the Orchard room for Music & Cider

The sounds of New Orleans make their way to the North Garden. Staunton's favorite traditional jazz group, The Queen City Porch Swingers, takes you back in time with the infectious melodies of songs from the 1910s through the 1940s.
Influenced by musicians from Louis Armstrong to Ella Fitzgerald to Irving Berlin, sit back and enjoy some classic tunes you forgot you loved that are seldom heard outside of a record needle.

Live Music in the Orchard: Anmara

Grab a glass and join us for live music by Anmara!

Annabeth is the ethereal force behind Anmara, a project merging organic synth-pop, dream folk, and “post new-age” into pure sonic catharsis. Echoing strains of Enya and Florence & The Machine, she invites us on a journey of enchantment and emotional exploration.

Inspired by both inner and outer landscapes, her latest album, 'Make Belief', offers riveting escapist fantasies. With her music, she beckons us not just to listen, but to dive deep and fall in love with life anew.

Prepare to be enchanted!

Yoga in the Orchard

Yoga in the Orchard is returning to the CiderWorks on September 15th! Join us once a month for classes guided by Ellen Goldlust for yoga in an idyllic setting.

Ellen is an RYT-200 Yoga Alliance–certified instructor who has been teaching yoga since 2016 and practicing for much longer. The class will be beginner-friendly (no experience required!) and appropriate for all levels of fitness, with lots of modifications offered to make the practice more or less challenging. We’ll focus on releasing tension, creating an inner calm that yogis can take with them off the mat, and most of all having fun!

Weather permitting, classes will be held outdoors on the flat lawn surrounded by the apple trees (we will relocate indoors to the Orchard Room if the weather is poor).

Please bring your own yoga mat. Water and bathroom facilities are available at the location. Class sizes are small, so purchase your ticket in advance.

Silent Book Club
Silent Book Club

Sip cider and read in quiet camaraderie. No assigned reading, no obligations. Bring your own book of choice. This is a free social event hosted in our Orchard Room.

We are excited to be Charlottesville's second chapter of Silent Book Club, an international organization bringing bibliophiles together.

From the official website of Silent Book Club:

"At Silent Book Club, there's no assigned reading. All readers are welcome—ebooks, audiobooks, textbooks, comic books... it's BYOBook. Our events are free and support local businesses. Friends and strangers gather at a set time and location, order food or drinks, share what they're reading, and settle in for an hour of silent, sustained reading. At the end of the hour, attendees can socialize—or not!

We started Silent Book Club because reading with friends enriches our lives and makes us happy. We love hearing about what people are reading (often in their other book clubs) and we think it's important to put down our phones and be social."

Schedule:
12:30 Arrive early to order food/ drinks/ chat
1-2pm Reading
2-3pm Mingle (or keep reading)

You can read about the experience in Cville Weekly's "Tried it in Cville Column" thanks to talented local journalist Kristie

We also have a Goodreads and a Facebook page for the group, if you'd like to connect!

live Music In The Orchard: Tara Mills
live Music In The Orchard: Tara Mills

Come Join us, grab a glass of cider and a warm reception from Tara Mills!

Inspired by the Blue Ridge Mountains and the rich musical traditions tied to them, Tara Mills describes her music as, "original mountain americana;" an original blend of folk, bluegrass, and americana. Writing and singing most of her life, it wasn't long before Tara picked up a guitar and taught herself how to express the melodies in her head through her songs and hauntingly beautiful lyrics. Influenced by bluegrass, old country, and traditional mountain folk, she creates an original sound that captures true human feeling and emotion. Based out of Charlottesville, VA, Tara plays and writes in a couple of different musical projects.
