From the founding of Jamestown to the time of Washington and Jefferson, every plantation owner made cider, drank cider, and bragged about his cider.
Fruit
Brock
BROCK is a modern variety from Maine, a cross of Golden Delicious and McIntosh. Large fruit is pinkish-red over a cream background color. Vigorous and spreading in form, the tree produces a mild, sweet dessert fruit with a distinctive flavor. It stores well. In New England, small commercial plantings have been made, but there are few indicators of its commercial value outside of that area. It ripens in September soon after Red Delicious.
