PINK PEARMAIN is also known as Pink Sparkle, and was found in an old orchard near Whale Gulch, California. The apple has a distinctive, upside-down shape, with a broad base that narrows at the stem. It develops a red, striped skin when ripe. The flesh is deep pink, but varies according to climate. Flavor is tart, mildly sweet, with a distinctive, aromatic flavor, making it a good dessert apple.
